Once I wondered if there was more

if I was doomed

to that constant chore

a love now wilted, long past bloomed.

Until he wandered in

and brought with him the sun.

What once was withered thin

it grows; it thrives; it's far from done.

Gone are the shadows

in a heart once harden.

He opened the windows.

He replanted the garden.

And in his gaze, I feel true love,

my darling songbird, my darling dove.
