The Fun Is Over

A Poem

The fun is over,

I guess it’s time to go

You don’t talk,

You just sit there watching videos on your phone

I’m losing my mind not sleeping at night,

While you’re gaming, I’m laying thinking about the lines I could write

It seems as though you get bored and wait for me to go,

So I go, but it never feels good for me to know

And for a moment I forget what I want -

What I deserve

I grab my shoes;

You ask me what I’m doing, so I say;

“I’m going; you don’t want me here.”

And it tears me up -

Every time it’s nothing new,

But I’m not learning to let go of these feelings for you

I don’t want to lose a friend,

And I don’t want to want somebody new

I’d try and try until there’s nothing else I can do for you, for me

Sitting across from you,

It feels we’re miles and miles apart -

When we’re sitting in the same room

heartbreak
