The Fight for Love

We are the ones who love with pride,

Yet our love is something some deride.

We face discrimination every day,

As if our love is something to dismay.

We stand tall, but sometimes we fall,

As we face the constant threat of it all.

The harassment and the hate,

Can make us feel like second-rate.

We are the ones who are brave,

In the face of a world that doesn't behave.

We speak our truth and demand respect,

Even when society tries to deflect.

We are the ones who have fought,

For our right to love and be sought.

We have overcome so much strife,

To live our lives in full and thrive.

But still, the fight is far from over,

As we face violence and hate that smother.

Our community with fear and pain,

As if our love is something to disdain.

We stand together, hand in hand,

To show the world that love is grand.

We will not back down or hide,

For our love is something to celebrate with pride.

So, let us continue to fight for love,

To rise above the hate and rise above.

Let us stand tall and never falter,

For the LGBTQ+ community is nothing but stronger.
