The elixir of love

A friendship poem

I like people

Art and nature lovers

Kind and generous

Honest, laughing, smiling, even raging

Willing, active, thoughtful, deep

Smart, wise, clever, philosophical

Practical, whimsical, romantic

Strong, weak, silly, blessed

But mostly I like people who aren’t too busy and who like me.

Sometimes even if they are too busy I like them. Sometimes even if they don’t love art I like them. It goes without saying that I don’t like mean people, but I don’t like people who focus too much on being nice either.

I like people who share their truth, even their secret truth with me. And I love people who just don’t know, like me.

I like people who I don’t even like sometimes - especially if we are really good friends.

The elixir of love is sneaky,

It comes from outside

From a big cloud in the sky

From a small breath of fog

A lighting bolt

Love is the ultimate reality

And mystery

Friendship is of this, like the little children of this.
