That familiar face: a canvas, blank, full of possibilities.

Face the horrid face of the outside world; a face facing not so palpable criticisms.

A source of pride, a source of shame, we hide behind the curtain of an idyllic goddess that only exists in a Greek myth.

It’s not real, we only make it seem so.

Art or war.

Doubtful, the beauty becomes,

tampers with the intricacies of being, simply because their mirrors show us a different view of “you”.

A you which feels perfect, a you, smooth as a crystal wine glass, yet shatters with one unfortunate slip.

An artful war.

Pick up a blade,

Select a fine brush….

And set that angel free or clip its wings

For the sake of vanity.

For the sake of saving sanity.
