the change

a poem

when I learned to recognise different kinds of light

something has changed inside

weird became familiar

when he said

that me and them

it will never work

like black and white will always be opposites

like cold and hot, tiny and huge

incompatible personalities, I suppose

nothing stays the same

while I concede to my own dark shade compared

to others flashing their lights

inner or outer from their motorcycles and cars

it’s like gliding through the air

between rain spells

stifle midway

my dreams are

when my writing powers turned against me

I never thought this could ever happen to me

I’m betting against the market

since I’ve exhausted all my resources

I’ll look far for them then

where no one dared to gaze

up to a hundred miles apart

from the original source

but who cares where the support lies

the most paramount thing is that it works

bare of bushes and shrubs

unlocked from the main drastic scene

and heading towards the light

the one that never dies
