The Brooding

Lost in translation

A presence of danger

Menacing, feeling unstoppable

Another unhappiness

Your voice never leaves

Wild and violent

The obsession feels right

Bested by conspiracy

Righteousness suffers

Outnumbered by the killing

Pride is on a wheel

While ego climbs a ladder

I'm drawn to your importance

A soul worth saving

Always lost in translation

Pages turning, endless meanings

With jealousy, unfairness, submitting

Flashbacks, no longer blank

Erased with mercy, pardoned

Into the cellar, gazed in memories

Under your eyes, a look fading

The past is everywhere

All the reminders, all the schemes

Taking its toll, weighing us down

Remorse and pity, these old friends

Thoughtless, emotionless, broken.

Upon a face, this stare, forever gone.
