The Black Building's Secret

C5

Once there stood a grand, imposing sight,

A building black as darkest night.

Its bricks and doors were all the same,

A dreary black that carried shame.

But windows white, a stark contrast,

Gave view to world, yet held a haunt.

For though it stood, in days of old,

A place of business, strong and bold,

Now empty, abandoned, and forlorn,

A relic of a bygone morn.

And tales were told, of those who'd dare

To enter, but were trapped in there.

One man, with curiosity,

Determined to find clarity,

Stepped through the door and ventured in

To darkness, shadowed and grim.

He found a maze, of rooms and halls,

Each darker than the last, appalls.

Decay and neglect, the air was thick,

And building's weight began to press.

But as he searched, he found the past,

Of greed and lies, it would not last.

And just as truth was in his grasp,

A growl, from depths, his heart to clasp.

He ran, with fear, his heart a race,

And stumbled out, into the space.

But building's hold, forever more,

Would be a weight he'd have to bore.
