Buried Alive and Laughing

B5

It was a day so crisp and fair

And a group of children out and there

Walking down a country lane

Playing games and feeling no pain

As they strolled along, so gay and free

A bundle tied up caught their eye, you see

They approached it, full of glee

But what they found, was a sight to see

For in that bundle, piled so high

Were not just leaves, but bodies, oh my!

The children recoiled in pure dismay

As the corpses began to groan and sway

They knew they had to save the day

And help these buried folks get away

They clawed and tore at leaves so dead

But the pile seemed bottomless, it filled their head

Just as all hope seemed to be lost

A hand shot out, at any cost

With a great heave and a mighty pull

Out came a figure, gasping and dull

One by one they all were freed

From the leaves that had them seized

They laughed and joked, as they walked away

From that strange and leafy day
