The Beast Itself - Poem

Monsters reign the twilight.

They stay hidden beneath the covers at night while the kids are sleeping.

In fact,

They are everywhere!

The frightening chill felt with every breath…

That's what kids have been told

Their parents every night before they go to sleep.

The fearful children of today are the adults of tomorrow.

As adults,

They passed down the lullaby of the beast to their own offspring.

With the curiosity of children,

They did not sleep at night and waited for the arrival of the monster.

There was neither a beast nor a sound.

There was only the sound of the wind and the light of the night lamps.

The beast itself was simply fear.

It's just a normal feeling and something that doesn't work.
