The Ash Suit

A Poem

Cufflinks binded velvet fabric.

The ash dark suit appeared smooth to the touch;

However, it was tough and rough as brick,

Since it offered a protective layer to the wearer for so much.

Deceiving layers of textiles,

Webbed into fruition with yarn of fiber.

Tissue and string meshed into piles.

The tailor was as skilled as a spider,

And stood in admiration of his masterpiece.

He smoothened the lapels of the suit,

Nicely folded into a valise,

Preparing for the travels to the Institute.

For all to admire the silk flannel,

And for those to aspire to own such elegancy.

At a steep price, you yourself could own wool of a camel,

Spun into the famous ash suit made of utter decadency.
