my mind walks a million miles

humming of the desktop lashes out the silence

a blinding screen with an ocean of blue and purple links

tracking the visits

in the middle of the night

buzzfeed

online blogs

uncertain where to click on these

the first results usually are the more popular ones

“Am I gay? Take a quiz now!”

the questions are straight forward:

“Attraction to the same sex?”

No.

.

.

Yes?

“Attraction to the opposite sex?”

Um maybe?

talks at recess are hard to listen to

when your friends know what they like and are.

a simple answer to a simple question,

“Am I gay?”

next pages came the Kinsey Scale:

the “Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale”

0 to 6

0 - exclusively heterosexual:

watching football and punching each other just to prove

a level of masculinity.

6 - exclusively homosexual:

the glitter that eulogizes the freedom of expression.

the sounds of footsteps choke my attention

erasing the search history and killing the computer

i go to sleep with the pendulum in my mind

“Am I gay?”
