Everyone raise your glasses,

it's time to give this man his toast.

If all turns out right,

it won't feel like too much of a roast.

Let's face it, he ain't famous,

unless you count the legend in his own mind.

Could it all have started with his million and one stories,

the ones that probably took him years to refine.

But we'll always let him bask in his glory,

for that's all he's got left since he started losing his hair.

And whether they're true or not,

the man can still tell one hell of a story.

Now, through the years,

he's learnt many tricks,

whether it's throwing BBQs and picnics,

just to watch all the fools wasted on the drink.

Or his many rules of the donuts,

hoping that we won't notice that his waist grows just as thick.

Now it's been said many times that he's got his girlie ways,

whether it's his fancy drinks or his shoulder to cry on.

To be one of the girls,

he's found his own ways.

But when you talk of Richard,

it's hard to know where to start.

There's a million things you could say,

about this man who's all heart.

And it's no wonder that we wish he would stay,

for when we think of our lives he's played a big part.

But we know it's time to send him on his way,

to chase his dreams and find new stories.

Now we could say we'll miss you,

til we're blue in the face,

but instead we'll thank you,

for all you've given us.

Thank you for opening your heart and homes,

and welcoming us like family.

Thank you for your strength and wisdom,

that pulled us through our misery.

Thank you for the laughs and smiles,

that brightened our days.

Thank you for your warmth and courage,

that showed us the way.

Thank you for never drawing the line,

when some of us were down on our luck.

But most of all we want to thank you for your time.
