Tales of Torment: The Sea of Red
One can only swim in desire for so long, before the current carries away any hope to escape. Uncontrolled, unbridled desire only leads to one thing, and it is not the pretty picture it so desperately tries to paint.
the waves of desire, they torment me
an empty beach will portend what is bound to be
disappearing footsteps can't hide the torrent's history,
red in the river rapids reveal just how this war went-
there is no warm scent,
no taste of victory,
only the sound of the reaper's symphony-
this sea of red is not pretty
these waters are like no other-
the same waves i wish upon,
they drown me in my own thirst
what was once dry ground i stood on, immersed
in a flood of proclivity
there is no one who will sing,
not even the sirens watching,
they're patiently silent, waiting for me to sink
into this sea of red
the reaper stands on these waters,
from beneath i can see, a beautifully horrifying mirror-
on a scroll my life can be read:
"he drowned in every sin he fed"
his symphony plays, the sirens sing now
the waves of this sea of red have roared
and my fate, has been poured out
it is on the floor i lay now, of this sea of red
