take a proper gander at the propaganda

take a proper gander

at the propaganda

as it's shoved

down your throat

through your eyes

drying up aqueous humor

in your ears

blocking out reason with wax

and mouth

swallowed whole

wholesale lies

ties that bind us

bind us to stuff

we don't need

don't even want

the ecstasy

the pressure

the tragedy

the danger in

the fear

of missing out

but

don't worry

the next best thing

is tomorrow's

dried turkey in the bin

Advertising--some of the most creative & obnoxiously damaging stuff you can find.

So good and so much truth! What a line this was: "drying up aqueous humor in your ears blocking out reason with wax" I mean, that was just...so freaking good!

Hooked by the title and never looked back! Great.

  • You know what, I think these people have overlooked for your story and now completely forgotten about it. Have you deleted and resubmitted? Loved your poem! 🍩🥐

Great title...and a lot of truth. I have given up on the relentless shopping and consuming, but it is hard being home and seeing it all around me. Happy holidays?

YES! I'm sick of worthless stuff.

This is fantastic. Swallowed whole, and ask for more.
