surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.

Every year at my school, it is a tradition for our senior class to play a prank on the school. Sort of like a parting gift from the senior class. Usually this happens a week before graduation. Over the years there have been some crazy pranks and there are some that were pretty mild mannered. Now that I'm finally a senior, it's my class’s turn to partake in the tradition. All three of the senior pranks before me that I've witnessed so far were pretty good. but honestly I don't think we'll have any problem having a better one than them.

I went home and told my mom that I got a date and she was ecstatic. Not to say that I'm extremely antisocial but I guess she doesn't normally see me out with girls a lot. I asked her to take me to the local formal shop to get fitted and she told me we would go first thing in the morning. It’s my first formal. I usually skip out on them because it's not my scene. But this year, I decided I might as well step out of my comfort zone. Because it's true that you only live once.

The annual winter formal is coming up at my school. At this time of the year it's usually one of the most fun moments in any young adolescent's life. Dressing up in our suits and dresses, going out to eat and then ending the night at the dance. The DJ plays fire music and we always have a good time. And it's not only upperclassmen. Freshman and sophomores are also able to attend. And we usually don't worry about having a date but it's very ideal to try to find one. But it wouldn't be the end of the world if you didn't.

I'm not very good at talking to people, especially girls. Unless I know you or we're very close friends, I don't have a problem being myself. But if it's someone I don't know, then I do get a little nervous. I wasn't expecting for anyone to ask me, especially not my crush. Her name is Susie. She came up to me after school and just shot her shot. And of course I wasn't going to say no. She gave me her snapchat so she could text me all the details of what color we were going to wear and stuff like that.

My fellow classmates and I all decided to get together over the weekend and discuss our prank. Of course we had to brainstorm a few ideas. Look back at all of the past pranks and analyze what made them so great and what we can do to make ours even better. Now obviously there are pranks that you can do but there will be major consequences for it. One of those consequences being the school withholding us from graduating. And we do not want that so any of those options that get thrown on the table, are out of the question.
