sad poetry
The cathartic nature of poetry makes it one of the best outlets to channel feelings of sadness, emotional turmoil, grief and despair.
Caged Sorrow
In these four walls where shadows cling, Time stretches thin, like a broken wing. A world outside, so near, so far, Dreams confined to a cold steel bar. Each breath a whisper, soft, restrained, Echoes of freedom, slowly drained. Memories dance in the darkened night, Fading embers of a distant light. The sun may rise, but it doesn’t shine, On hearts locked up, left to pine. Hope wears chains, heavy and tight, In the silence of a forgotten fight. Tears that fall, unseen, unheard, A caged bird’s song, a lonely word. In this place where the soul must bend, Time is the foe that will never end. But even here, where sorrow stays, A flicker of hope in the darkest days. For every night, no matter how long, Must bow to dawn, soft and strong.

The Bottle's Embrace
In the quiet hours of night, When the world has lost its light, He reaches for the bitter glass, His only friend, his constant past. The bottle whispers soft and low, Promises of peace it bestows, But in its depths, no solace found, Only echoes, sorrow-bound. His hands tremble, cold with fear, A life once bright, now drowned in beer. Memories blur, a fading trace, In the mirror, he sees a stranger's face. Lonely nights, they stretch too long, The days, a haze where he doesn't belong. Each sip, a tear he can't replace, Each drop, a mask he can't erase. He chases shadows down the hall, But finds no refuge in their call. The world outside, it moves so fast, While he is trapped within the glass. He stumbles through a fog of pain, Searching for escape in vain. Yet every step, it leads him back, To the bottle's grip, a cold attack. Oh, how he longs for days of old, When love was warm, and life was gold. But now he drowns in silent cries, A broken soul, with empty eyes. If only he could break the chain, And find the strength to heal the pain. But the bottle’s voice, it calls so sweet, As he surrenders to defeat. In the end, he fades away, A ghost in the shadows, led astray. His heart, it beats a weary tune,

The Glamour Trap
**The Glamour Trap** In mirrors of crystal, the world seems so bright, Fashion whispers secrets in the softest of lights. Threads woven with dreams, each stitch a desire, But beneath the satin, lurks a dangerous fire. Runways that glitter, masks that conceal, The truth of the fabric they dare not reveal. In the gleam of the spotlight, shadows take form, A tempest of envy brews in the storm. The hems are too tight, the heels far too high, In pursuit of perfection, how much must we buy? The price of the image, far steeper than gold, A soul left in tatters, for the body to mold. Silhouettes whisper, but the echoes are loud, Of lost identities in a faceless crowd. Beauty distorted, in each glance, in each pose, But the thorn’s in the rose, as the industry grows. Step off the runway, shed the disguise,

Voices of Melanin
In the mirror, my skin sings songs of the earth, Deep as the night, rich with untold worth. Yet in the streets, whispers turn to screams, Shadows of hate cast over my dreams. My skin, a tapestry of history’s grace, Woven with struggles, etched on my face. But they see darkness, a reason to fear, Blind to the light that shines so clear. Words like chains, heavy and cold, Binding our stories, left untold. But in our hearts, we carry the sun, A burning truth that can't be undone. They shout, "Too much," they shout, "Too loud," Yet we stand tall, unbowed, unbowed. For every slur is a battle won, In the war for justice, that’s just begun. Our melanin, not a mark of shame, But a crown of pride, we reclaim our name. From whispered slurs to outright cries, We rise, we rise, through tear-filled eyes. They fear our power, our radiant hue, But we are the dawn, breaking through. In every step, in every breath, We walk through life, defying death. So let them speak, let them sneer, For we are the future they secretly fear. A world reborn, where love prevails, Where blackness thrives, and never fails. In the mirror, my skin still sings, Of freedom’s promise, and all it brings.

The Land of Endless Night
*The Land of Endless Night* In the land where shadows speak, Where ancient stones beneath our feet Echo the cries of centuries past, Two peoples' hopes in sorrow cast. Under skies of endless night, Where stars once shone, now burning bright With fires of anger, fear, and pain— Is there a chance for peace again? In Israel's heart, a cry is heard, A nation's dream, a promise stirred, Yet in the dust where children play, What price is paid for dreams that sway? Palestine, with olive trees, Roots deep as grief, yet none at ease, With every tear, a story spun,
