sad poetry
The cathartic nature of poetry makes it one of the best outlets to channel feelings of sadness, emotional turmoil, grief and despair.
STOP DOG MEAT TRADE
My fur is thick and brown, My eyes are bright and round, But in some places I'm not safe, My fate is not profound.

Dear Little Spaces, I’ve never really told you, How much you mean to me. For all those days you hid me away, When I was terribly afraid.

It is not the absence of feeling. It’s not being the wait, instead of the action. It is not playing the cards, and sidestepping silly love songs.

Dear Suicide, I’m writing you a letter. Committing you and hurting myself won’t make me feel better. Dear Suicide, Get it through your head that I’m done seeing red because I’m not better off dead.

Hail to thee, Oh broken soul Slumped between the first and second floor. Your lips all bloody. Your ribs all ruddy.

Dear Love
I hope this letter finds you well, As I sit down to write and tell, Of all the things I hold so dear, And how much I wish that you were near. You are the light that brightens my day, The sunshine that keeps the clouds at bay, The one who makes my heart skip a beat, And fills my world with joy so sweet. I think of you every moment of the day, And long for the time when you're here to stay, To hold you close and never let go, To whisper sweet nothings and let love flow. I cherish every moment we've shared, The laughter, the tears, the love we've bared, And as I write these words so true, I can't help but feel so much for you. You are the one who completes me, The missing piece that I didn't see, And I know with you by my side, All my dreams can come alive. So my love, as I end this letter, I want you to know that I couldn't be better, With you in my life, I'm truly blessed, And I'll love you forever, I must confess.

Dear Gage, When you speak, are your words sincere, or do they just float out like a ring of smoke, from a cigarette I’ve told you will kill you one day?
