heartbreak
They can break your heart, but they can't break your soul; poetry about lost love that comforts and uplifts.
Cindy, the CarSitter, is a Genius!
I just heard the most amazing thing on the News. Eureka and halelujah, I've waited over 50 years to get excited and rewarded for listening to the news anchors. Life can still surprise me and that is brilliantly satisfying. What was it, you ask? Oh, I'm sorry you missed it, but I will share. Yes, this morning on the news, the best news I've heard in too long. Cindy the Genius has solved a major problem with her incredibly sharp mind and entreprenuerial spirit. I'm almost envious at her genius, but I'm too happy and grateful for her idea to feel envy.

A Lost Feeling Found
From that day on, I never contacted you again. I restored my original appearance, embracing independence and freedom. No dependence, no disturbance – it's like I'd never met you before. I know it would be a pity to give up, but there's no point in persisting in some things. Is it a must-have? Maybe losing would be easier.

You Left, But the Sky Still Looks Like You
You left quietly, like mist sliding off a morning window— no slamming doors, no goodbye loud enough to echo. But the sky— it never got the memo. It still carries your colors at dusk, soft pinks where your laughter once lived, deep purples like the bruises of missing you, and streaks of gold — that tender way you said my name when the world felt too sharp. Rain taps like your fingers used to— restless and full of rhythm. Clouds drift in patterns I swore only your handwriting could draw. And every time the wind moves through trees, I hear your half-finished sentences trying to find a place to land. You see, the world forgot you, but the sky? The sky is stubborn. It wears you like memory, wraps you around each sunrise as if to say: Some goodbyes don’t stick. Some people don’t leave clean. And maybe that’s why I look up too much lately. Because the sky still looks like you— and I’m still trying to let you go without forgetting your light.

Remains of an Egotistical Planet
Ego is a trickster and it has become you. It is a deceiver and it distorts the truth. You can conform, bend, and crack to its whims. But acrobatics are not your strength nor are your atrophying limbs. Amends will not right this injustice. Time will not aspire to erase your legacy of pain. I envy the resilience I haven't yet accrued. The world Lazarus returns to will be this one, indeed. She will eventually become me. You have no say in how I mop up the blood. The rags that soak up the loss aren't yours to navigate. I was fixated on you and your approval of me. With no one holding me back, maybe it's not too late. You will spend forever trying to discredit me. My mistakes were macro while your inactions were micro. You're the opposition eternally embedding itself into my source code. Preventing me from prevailing which is second nature now. You're the blockade resisting my regulation. Everything you did only propelled me forward. I only grew more unsettled while I settled for you. I'm still searching and still seeking for better, for more. Yesterday took too much from me and you took even more. You're still throwing stones and wishing me harm. I can't imagine unhappiness with you anymore, I can only see beyond. I know there will be a day of reckoning but you will never care. I have this gift of freedom and I refuse to squander it. You are the remains of an egotistical planet. You deserve every inconvenience that is coming your way. I am running off in the opposite direction. You're on your own from here
