The River’s Secret
The river hums a quiet tune, A song it’s known since silver noon. Through bending reeds and mossy stones, It sings of secrets never known. It kissed the feet of ancient trees, And danced with whispers on the breeze. It saw the world through drifting glass, As kingdoms rose and ages passed. Beneath its ripples, stories sleep, Of lovers lost and promises deep. The echoes swirl in liquid light, Held by the current, soft yet bright. But ask the river what it knows, It only sighs, it only flows. For secrets told will fade away, Like mist that lifts at break of day. In moonlit nights, its surface gleams, Reflecting stars and silent dreams. A mirror to the sky above, A testament to nature's love. Yet in its depths, the shadows play, Guarding tales of yesterday. The river keeps its mysteries close, In waters deep where no one knows.
