Synesthesia.

Do you know what it means?

The most common form of synesthesia,

Researchers believe,

Is coloured hearing: sounds, music or voices Seen as colours.

Like red, blue, gold and green.

Sometimes in erratic patterns,

Sometimes faded, plain and neat.

Other times I’ve noticed smooth, curly,

Coloured lines,

Or making quirky shapes to the music’s beat.

I’ve always seen these colours,

They’re everywhere, inside everything.

The moment I listen to a song,

Hear someone speak or sing,

The colours are sure to appear,

From the sounds they are emanating.

~

Words come with certain colours.

For example, ‘Love’ is magenta.

Sometimes a warm, gentle fuchsia pink.

Sometimes a complex blend of lilac,

Peach and amber.

~

Words of love and kindness,

Are always eruptions of rainbow.

I must say that upon observation,

Love and kindness is human perfection.

Considering these energies are infused with

All colours of the spectrum.

Music looks like neon bright wavelengths,

The colours are not shy.

You can even see pastel blue,

Metallic purple, silver and lime.

~

I like classical music colours best,

As the wave forms they take look heaven sent,

Turquoise and golden starbursts

Gush out of Technicolor treasure chests.

During childhood,

I learnt that my seeing colours was perceived as Sensory and cognitive pathway disarray,

A strange perceptual phenomenon.

Though I firmly believe that it is not rare,

In fact, I believe it’s common.

~

For every atom is made up of colour,

Though man claims he cannot see them.

The electromagnetic spectrum,

The unseen light,

~

We feel it.

~

Imagine all these colours,

In every shape and form,

Vibrating,

Expanding,

Contracting.

~

Rays of light are everywhere,

Even if we just don’t get them;

We are those rays and beams of light,

We are in truth, all part of the spectrum!

Synesthesia,

The human brain surrenders

To the intrinsic truth of the Universe.

Be it purely physical,

Mental, emotional,

Spiritual.

Be it audio, culinary,

Sensory,

Or visual,

Colour is everything.
