Every superhero wears a disguise,
With our hearts we can devise
By looking in their eyes,
As they come in all shapes and size.
They do not need to wear a cape,
Or make some fabulous escape,
As they can look like me and you.
All they need is to reach out and help
Others for what they are going through,
All the while remembering what they do,
Comes tenfold as a reward back to you.
So everyone needs to swallow their pride,
Look for that inner fire inside,
For pain may have a face,
But does not deserve a place.
Look deep inside your heart,
For we must all do a part.
Yet we should not expect any gratitude,
Or even a simple platitude.
Just bring each day our best version,
And conquer heartbreak’s unwelcome incursion.
