A love poem to summer in my hometown

London boarding school days

Got an accent cos of how I was raised

Valley girl, sipping on tea and eating crumpets

Teasing stoic palace guards, they never falter

Summer free of academia prison

No collard white shirts, Bulberry-like plaid skirts

Cruising, top-down, sun-kissed, you've been missed

Cali the heart and the birth of me

No matter where I roam summertime in Cali will always be home

Santa Monica Pier, Ferris wheel to the top

We've gotten stuck up here every year

We say we're never riding again

It's a lie so we call it a tradition

Dishing as we wait

how are things? Works been busy. When did we get old enough to have chips on our shoulders?

Remember R.E. and sneaking out during curfew?

Headmistress was such a Feeny

Santa Monica College Speech 101

2002

Venice Beach

street artist displaying talent that should be on TV

Here's a tip

for welcoming me home now that I'm grown

Fall, spring, hectic and crazy, it's summertime let's go you and me

Top down, jamming to 90s and 2000 beats flying down PCH

Nelly's Hot In Here and AC blasting

Summertime in Cali such a vibe

No matter how much I age

these memories will be forever lasting.
