Summer Sublime

Nostalgia for summers past

In the hazy glow of summertime,

The heart awakens to what is sublime,

The smell of sunshine fills the air,

While a soft breeze tousles their golden hair.

The taste of peach nectar on their lips,

As they savor the summer's succulent sips,

The sunset shimmering on wet, tan skin,

And the crisp, cool water they lazily dip in.

Laughter and secrets carry in the wind,

Echoing memories of pleasure with no end,

Visions percolate the world around,

That left them smitten, utterly spellbound.

With every sense, they become transported,

To a time and place where once they courted,

In a foreign land, a summer romance,

That still enchants them in a hypnotic trance.

Lust that simmers like the heat of the sun,

A fervent passion that cannot be undone,

And in the memories that they keep,

The senses reignite, and the heart skips a beat.

The taste of red wine that they often shared,

The smell of salt hung heavy in the air,

The sound of sweet melodies that filled their nights,

The sight of stars that shone so bright.

These sensations that they now recall,

Were once the catalyst for their downfall,

But now they are a source of delight,

When they reminisce about summer nights.

For in the senses, they find a way,

To relive the moments of yesterday,

To feel the magic of love once more,

And to cherish the memories that they can't ignore.

So they let the senses guide them back,

To a time when plans were all they lacked,

And let them revel in the summertime,

And in the memories that forever chime.
