Steps in the Garden

some recollations about the summer

By Jansen ChangPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

In the hush of twilight's embrace,

I find myself retracing steps

through the alleys of memory,

where the shadows of laughter linger.

Oh, the hours we spent,

like golden threads woven into time's fabric,

our hearts intertwined, beating in sync,

writing our own silent symphony.

I remember the park bench,

where we carved our names in whispered promises,

underneath the canopy of stars,

our dreams painting the sky with hope.

Each touch, a brushstroke of tenderness,

etched upon the canvas of my soul,

your smile, a sunbeam that thawed my heart,

melting away my fears and doubts.

The scent of rain on city streets,

our hands seeking refuge in each other's warmth,

we danced between raindrops and memories,

our laughter echoing through the rain-kissed night.

Even in the quiet moments of solitude,

your presence lingered like a gentle whisper,

a reminder of the love we once held,

and the chapters of us that will forever remain.

Though time has woven its tapestry of change,

and we have embarked on separate journeys,

I'll forever treasure the fragments of us,

the good memories that time can never erase.

And as the years continue their dance,

may you find happiness and fulfillment,

knowing that once upon a tender time,

we shared a love that painted our souls with color.
