Come and whisper in my ear

Sweep me off of these tired feet

5 o’clock stubble against my neck

Your kiss bourbon warm and honey sweet

———————————————————————

Gaze into these knowing eyes

And turn not to look away

Burn through me with your unrelenting gaze

The one that tells me that you’ll stay

———————————————————————

We’ll build a fire in the old stone hearth

A spark ignited there between two hearts

I’ll ask you to stay with me for a while

Until we too shall part
