Your touch

Portrait of Bed of stars

Je suis très heureux

d’être ici

avec toi;

It has been four months

since I've had human

contact because of

this damned

quarantine.

I dream about being

held by you;

my skin quivers under your

touch and I greedily

inhale your caress,

like exposed leaves

during photosynthesis.

Your touch reminds me

of a sea of stars on an

October night,

cool and refreshing.

Your touch reminds me

of that time I snuggled

with my sister's dog, Fuzzie,

in my arms

and she fell asleep,

her body resting onto my body,

reassured and sound.

Your touch is like a glass

of lemonade with mint leaves

on a hot summer day,

lilting and guaranteed to

mount me onto clouds.

Your touch is the panacea

to remind me that I'm a

human being.
