Starry Night

I can almost feel you’re mine

The Starry Night By Vincent van Gogh, Google Arts & Culture, Public Domain

Starry night

This is love at first sight

Burning me in yellow bright

From my window to the Venus light

You’re the fever heat of June

And the brilliance of the lonesome moon

I don’t know how to get to you

From the darkness of my little room

In the arc of the electric sky

Your frosty eyes like fire ignite

And you swirl just like a toxic wine

In the motions of my cloudy mind

But you’re dark too

Like the anguish of a minor tune

When rapidly you move

From yellow to the harshest blue

The prelude to a masterpiece

That never had a chance to be

A winged horse that lost its way

In the spiral of a cosmic wave

You fall just like a tumbling breeze

Through the ever-present Cypress tree

Like a dream that someone else forgot

Like a wish that no one else has caught

…now you’re caught in all my whirling thoughts

Through the turning wheels of time

You almost feel divine

Like the blind chasing the blind

I can almost feel you’re mine

But you’re dark blue

I can see right through

The starlight and the precious moon

Still...I can't get over you
