This is the product of a little writing exercise I tried in the most inconvenient hours of the day, as we all have experienced at some point. The goal was to create a sound similar to older writers from earlier centuries. I think it's like a Romantic-era nature poem. If you randomly come across this piece, I hope you find something in it that you like.

Spirit of the sea

Come up and collect your bounty

Dive through as we swim to you

Up and over

Bobbling waves

Soul of the sea

See you coming towards as we

Sound our horns, our blaring trumpets

Making our visit known

A visit below

A thousand leagues

A thousand pleas

As the spirit of the sea

Comes down

Drowns out

And washes over

A soul finally freed.
