Souls and Scales, Slime and Time
Poem for Each of Us--Read if you like
Pennies for thoughts on aimless advice,
Focus on greatness and don't forget to fly.
There are great roaming minds consumed with their vice,
Some of them ponder and some of them die...
Even the great wallow alone in their beds,
All of their time stuck in their head.
*
Where is here, where is there?
Is it better or worse to have more or have less?
I ask you to pause, I ask you to beg. I ask you to be different, to be you instead.
When we scoff at our neighbors Sunday's best, think of these words and remember you're blessed.
Think not to balk at your pigeon toes and that old ruched buckle dress
Smile and hold your heads high above the rest.
We are packaged perfect in our own little mess
Keep trying and fighting and doing your best.
*
As you continue writing, inspiring and all the rest...
Think about what is it that makes you care,
Do you live in floating worlds with magic homes and talking bears
or do you swim amidst the sea with soaring birds.
Time and Minds are our greatest threat
Ashen fires smoulder our ghostly temptress.
Be it a test, a muse, a rouse, or a lovely house-guest.
We feel the pity, we feel the test
For as we wander, as we try, we find ourselves amidst the sky...
