Sorry I Missed That.

I was staring at nothing.

Sorry I Missed That.

Dissociating; fading out from reality and slamming- head first,

Into unreality, where the colours burst.

Sparks from neurons misfiring, incorrectly dispersed, spelling out the truth that we are,

Tragically, as if by a witches whispered verse,

Ravaged by a lingering and ever-present curse.

Although some may think that this conundrum is, perhaps, not the worst,

Concentration, or anywhere we are intended to converse,

Tends to be led astray; as if the hills become mountains to traverse.

Instead of the ease of others, we can’t face life unrehearsed,

On the contrary, we must consider each option fist

Never to be unprepared; unless distracted by nothing, since we are easily coerced.

great job! I would try a more sparse sister poem (if it is in you) and see how you like it!

It's amazing how you maintained the rhymn while not disturbing the flow of the poem!

😱 This has been on my reading list for the past several days and I hadn't been able to get to it. Your sub/title really caught my eye. Holy Mother of Gahd this is outstanding. 👏👏👏 This feels like a song to me. Like a badass, mic-dropping, inspirational-@$$-kicking song. Thank you for writing this, Obsidian. Feel privileged to have gotten to read it.

This poem flowed really well for an acrostic poem. Each line blended perfectly into the next. It painted a very effective picture of the "ever-present curse" age of distraction we live in. Really well written, thank you for sharing!
