I always wondered what it would be like if things were different

If you loved me like I loved you, maybe we could be better

But I can’t keep wishing for things that won’t ever happen

Even if I know you’ll move on from me and forget the past

I will keep on loving you without a doubt, when you eventually won’t

And I hope that someday when you find someone else better than me doesn’t come

Because I can’t bear to see you happy with someone that isn’t me

I’m selfish, I know, but can’t I be, for once?

I want you like you want that someone.
