Some Days

Some days it’s like you’re sitting on a throne

The happiness you feel reverberating down to the bone

Those are the days when everything seems to be alright

Not knowing the next day will be a fight

Some days it seems like you’re about to drown

The weight of expectations the world has placed on you dragging you further down

No one there to offer a helping hand

To pull you back onto dry land

And some days it feels as if the teardrops won’t stop

From the emotional barrage designed to make you drop

Living in a world full of strangers

Whose only purpose seems to fuel your anger

You feel confused and lost

Searching for a way out no matter the cost

Living in a world that leaves you feeling haunted

Reliving memories that should have stayed long dead

And when your greatest deceiver

Turns you into a reluctant believer

You scream and yell ‘Can you feel my heart?’

Knowing your only solace comes from your favorite medium of art
