They pray on us, low and high scorers,

Customers and workers alike,

Like the predators of the wilds,

lurking from a distance and walk around

At the registers, surrounding us and the victims,

overhearing us trying to lure them in and continue the deadly cycle

Promises of benefits and rewards- but to who?

What is cents on the dollar to CEOs and big wigs?

When the bottom line and record profits are the driver

behind the wheel of corporations

and driving through wall street

On the news reports of more people being consumed

the never satisfied beast of capitalism,

an epidemic turned pandemic,

with no light at the end

report after report

statistic after statistic

Trying to end the cycle,

asking no one and reluctant to those who approach you,

Damned if you, damned if you don’t

The overhead speaker rings,

bell tones that signaled another captured
