Soft as a Snowflake

If she could die tonight

She would

Tie her hair together in a braid

Keep in mind she likes her hair swooped to the right of her

Slowly interlacing her fingers

With the three thick strands of blond hair

Slip on her favorite sweater

A pair of jeans

Should she wear socks?

After all this is her story

Step out her window

The snow gently flaking in her hair

And melting instantly on her hands

She reaches out

Lets her feet slide from under her

And falls ever so gracefully to the ground

The fresh powder catching her below

The braid over her right shoulder

Blue eyes in the sky

The melted snow mixes in with the tears on her face

Ever so silently breathing in and out

Only in a puff of hot hair

She grabs a blanket of snow to keep her warm

Watches the stars and airplanes pass by the sky

And disappears out of the world just as gently as she came
