The black and white hues of my life began to darken
my eyes not able to see the light shining through
until you.
My eyes blinking at the bright light ahead
adjusting to the shift
my world once black and white
now covered in colorful hues.
I step carefully into your light, careful not to burn myself
you held out your hand ready to pull me in
the colors dancing on my skin
my heart full.
I look back at my old hues, remembering the dark
and I am happy to get lost in your world of color.
