Smiling

A poem

I don't smile often,

I'm always crying it out,

I never seem to laugh,

I'm often filled with doubt.

...

The whales sing their songs,

The birds take off in flight,

My mind still seems to wander,

Even the owl whispers "goodnight."

...

The ocean moves along,

The leaves come and go,

People seem to move on,

And my steps are sadly slow.

...

Yes things move on,

I wonder if I could,

Some make their way,

I wonder if you would.

...

Sometimes I wish of something else,

I want to run away,

But it always keeps me steady,

You always make my day.

...

I wonder about you,

When you always say my name,

I think about it daily,

Even in the darkest rain.

...

A twinkle in your eyes,

The way you move and speak,

Your perfect soft laugh,

Like a little creek.

...

That look when you are happy,

Your voice gets me too,

I don't often smile,

But I can't help it when I see you.
