Smash

6/4/12

Out of control

Going in circles

You say one thing

And mean another

Spinning around

This isn’t fun

It’s nauseating

Give it up already

Fate knows what

I never will

All I want is some control

Not this freefall

The pot forms

The sides and rim

Are smooth

Such a pretty ceramic

All I want is to be

Wanted not just needed

All I want is some legit

Love for my being

I want to be a care

Not a responsibility

The clouds pour out the glaze

On this piece of pottery

Out of the kiln now

It’s been painted

Ready to be adored

But we’ve got other plans

It’s in the window

Everyone walks by

They don’t see the cracks inside

They don’t know its faults

Put it on a shelf

Knowing it’s too high up

It teeters and falls

Smash
