Slow Drowning

She knew she was going under...

I daze off

Grabbing on to nothing.

I remember the days

I crave to hold on to something.

Those days are long gone.

'Dey went all wrong.

The hurt I felt for nothing I did

Made me feel unworthy.

Now,

Your new victim

is bruised and confused.

I tried to help her

Before you got to her,

But I was too late...

She thought she was at shore,

Yet far from bay.

I couldn't tell her anything.

So I had to watch her drown in love.

There was nothing I could do.

I felt the ripples and the tides of the water

Fall from my eyes.

I turn to walk away

Knowing another woman was

Going to drown, slowly

In my own tears...
