Slip Sliding Away

A Poem about Time and Change

The years slip by, like water down a drain

Memories fade, like a forgotten refrain

We try to hold on, but it's hard to grasp

As we slip sliding away from our past

The seasons change, and so do we

But some things stay the same, so it seems

We look back on our lives with a sigh

Wondering where the time went, and why

But it's not just the years that slip away

It's also our hopes and dreams that fade

We try to hold on, but it's hard to keep

As we slip sliding away from our sleep

But even though time moves on and we change

There's still beauty to be found, if we look

We'll find that the memories we hold dear

Will always be with us, even as we slip sliding away from here

So let's cherish the time that we have

And hold tight to the memories we've made

For though we may be slip sliding away

We'll always have the love and laughter that we've made.
