Oh, humans you cannot understand

The struggles that come with being a pet

You see us as your loyal friend

But our thoughts and feelings you forget

We try to speak, but you can't hear

Our barks and meows, just noise in your ear

We have so much to say, so much to share

But you're too busy, you don't really care

We want to tell you when we're in pain

Or when we're hungry, and need to be fed

But you can't read our expressions

So our struggles go unnoticed and unsaid

We long for a connection, a bond so true

But often we're left feeling lonely and blue

We may not have words, but we have hearts

And we hope someday, you'll understand our part

In this world, as a pet, we may be small

But our love for you is bigger than it all

And though you may not hear our silent cries

We'll keep trying, until one day, you realize.
