Sightless Herd

I have no issue or real concern about people’s opinions,

As far as I know, all of us, rich or poor, make decisions.

But if you haven’t seen it on social media or in conversations lately,

There seem to be more negative doomsayers speaking blatantly.

To speak of life in such a manner is so undeserving.

Tossing mercy and grace aside, are two things that are worth preserving.

But those who seek to slaughter your life’s meaning,

Will do all they can in every way to get you steaming.

False comments, political scaremongering, and religious taunting,

About life, they don’t understand nor can give a reasoning.

It’s for their self-gratification that they stroke their egos,

That they speak malicious predictions of things they don’t know.

Will you play along and be pushed into this stagnant state,

That captures souls and locks free thinking outside the gate.

Be gone with you, you vile serpent of misconception and fear,

Be gone with you, with your tongue that lashes out and causes tears.

For a free mind and a free soul will always win out,

Trusting in grace and mercy a soul sealed without a doubt.

Pulpits filled with angry voices spouting hate so offensive,

Weren’t we instructed to love unconditionally without omission?

Then with harassing voices and slashing words,

They post pleasing comments that feed sightless herds.

Pushing the flock away from life’s true meaning,

They gather them for their own use, souls left starving.

May life’s meaning rise above this self-fulling dogma,

That gives no hope beyond that of self-righteous drama.

Life, in all of its glory, is simple and clearly seen,

If eyes are wide open, seeing it as it should’ve been.

Grace and mercy are what give us all our sight within.
