Siamese Said Scat

Windows and Gardeners

By Michele NampalliPublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

I unlatched the window

pulled it up

the breeze greeted me

cupped my face in a playful caress

loosened strands of hair from my bun

as I smiled at the bright blue sky

first time

I.

Siamese cat

***

watched

the gardeners tend to their citrus trees

sweat brimming under large sun hats

they'd come closer every day

watching me as I flicked my tail

As I scratched at the binding

As I tapped the pulley on the shades for the clattering sound

Wistful

they pressed their faces to the window this time

And I yowled back

Annoyed

A warm smile floated to my eye level

My eyes are just as colorful

I meowed

I walked on the shoulder of the leather couch

to curl up in the middle of the dining table

in the warm sunlight

***

surrounded by shades of green

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
