We splash and play in the refreshing lake

The sun set late on those Northwestern nights

How I long for, and treasure those warm days

watching shooting stars, wishing as I might

Those days seem so far in the distant past

Memories I will hold close forever

until my dying day I hope will last

Innocent days I want to remember

Fireworks exploding in the night sky

roasting marshmallows on the sandy beach

Laughing as we'd play, you would lift me high

and for my father's hand I'd always reach

Those summer days I never will forget

They'll dance in my mind, " "till the day I'm dead
