A rattling existence pours over the confused adolescents of every era.
Love, sexuality, gender, laws, rules, education, family and future
A teenager cannot assess all at once and successfully balance it.
Rebellious, reckless and withdrawing behaviour settles our misunderstanding.
However, we never guessed it could light a fire of supressed emotions.
Allowing the truth pour out of our cauldrons like the alcohol overflowing from our systems.
We did not know that our anguish and independence would be shattered by our loose lips.
We had no clue that these same lips would force everything into a spiral.
We are blinded by how easily we could drown in our own miserable mistakes.
Yet we continue repeating our actions, abandoning what seems rational.
Lost in our own emotions we fall in and out of love too quickly.
Losing connections that could have been savoured with a friendship.
Having to confront things we wish we never said.
Growing as individuals but losing who we are in the process.
Our purpose is a lose string on a jumper, and we keep pulling it to find answers.
We are eachothers answers, our parents are our answer.
Yet still, we keep lighting torches down unfamiliar alley ways.
Still, we continue to empty unlabelled boxes.
Eventually, we will walk down the alley ways in the dark and leave the boxes alone.
But right now curiosity and conflict get the best of us.
Right now, our foundations are only found on blueprints.
Even though we are certain they were already built.
