“Shahr-e-Khamoshan” strange term!

It is a city with no noise

No streets, no Mohallas—the sectors

No market, no offices

There are nameplates and epitaphs

But you cannot call anyone and meet

There are trees, wild plants

And dogs and birds

All are waiting: When are you leaving?

You are stranger there

Till you do not die!

Author’s Note:

*“Shahr-e-Khamoshan” is an Urdu and Persian term that means “The city of silent ones” It particularly dedicated to a cemetery or graveyard. This term is commonly used in Urdu and Persian poetry.
