Severance

A JH Poem

Cutting off a rotten branch saves a tree.

Removing an infected limb saves a man.

Detaching a flat saves a car.

What kind of cutting saves the mind?

Abandoning bad thoughts is something.

Detaching from unideal memories and thoughts.

Breaking off bad friends and partners.

Put an end to relationships that rid you of precious sleep.

These kind of severances are easy, but painful.

A one and done kind of deal.

Severance of feelings is a different story.

That action is not a one off.

It’s easy to divorce from a person.

You can’t sever your soul and live.
