Many a sweet love we would deny

If only it would be love that subsides

At last I can tell

What would be my hell

As I fight with myself each day

I try to find a way

To love myself

I’d rather today

As I look at self loathing

I accept no longer

My fate to hate

As I gaze upon myself

I shall learn to love myself

More if only for moments

That I cast a gaze upon the mirror

And declare love at real first sight

My heart is full of love

At last

As a shadow grows from my weary heart

It grows with charm and self-love

I no longer see myself as bad

I only have eyes for myself

As I long to feel good

As I now know I should.
