Star Crossed Lovers on the Titanic
Fermina Olivia Y Ocana walks on the deck of the Titanic as she inhales the sea air. Her long brown hair blew in the wind and her light brown eyes squinting from the sun's rays. Fermina walks into the dining room for lunch and a handsome young waiter approaches her. Juan Monros speaks to her in English but Fermina doesn’t speak English. Juan starts to speak Spanish and Fermina is surprised. Fermina and Juan are the only ten Spanish passengers on the Titanic. Although the Titanic left England there were many passengers from around the World heading to New York City. Fermina and Juan are instantly attracted to each other. Juan is tall with dark brown hair and blue eyes. Juan asks “ what she would like to drink” in Spanish. Fermina replies in Spanish “ water please”. Juan has a pitcher of water with him and pours it into her glass cup. Juan notices that she has no ring on her finger and asks Fermina if she is traveling alone. Fermina answers that she is traveling with her bosses Maria Josefa and Victor Castellanos.
Traveling to Versailles part II
The Cardinal barges in when Maggie is about to speak and insists on speaking with the King. The king is annoyed, but he hears the Cardinal’s comments. The Cardinal says “this woman is not to be believed and she is a witch with instruments of evil”. Maggie yells out “that’s a lie”. The King faces Maggie and asks her to approach him. King Louis XIV asks Maggie if she is really from the future. Maggie says “yes”, and “ I am from the future”. Maggie tells the King that the Cardinal took away her camera an instrument that takes instant portraits of people. King Louis orders the Cardinal to return the camera. The Paige is ordered by the Cardinal to fetch it from his room. Maggie pulls out her phone and shows the King that it takes photos and has a flashlight, as Maggie turns on the light. Maggie explains that the phone is a talking device where people can speak to each other around the world. Maggie explains that the phone will work temporarily because it needs an energy source to charge it such as electricity. Maggie explains electricity and how it powers many items in the future such as indoor air conditioning, refrigerators, TVs, cameras, and phones. Maggie shows the KIng photos of her car and a photo of the airplane she boarded to take her trip to France. Maggie shows the King images from the future. The King is shocked and amazed at the images he has seen. The King believes Maggie and is charmed by her. The paige returns with the camera and Maggie shows the photos she took. The Cardinal starts to say that it is an evil instrument to steal souls. Maggie says “No”, it's only an instrument that creates instant portraits and does not harm anyone.
The Hypocrisy of America with the war
America has been quick to support the Ukrainian war by helping the Ukrainians fight back with massive amounts of aid. Another 800 million were sent to Ukraine in aid for weapons. I understand America’s stance on the world stage to support democracies around the world. I believe that America should help Ukraine but I also believe that Europe has to be able to do more since the war is in their backyard. The world is watching this war as the Ukrainians fight back the Russians so much death on both sides. It seems surreal. America should not fight alone in other combats that don’t involve them. America has another war to fight that they have ignored for generations.
Traveling back in Time to Versailles
On a beautiful day, the sightseeing tourists were walking around the gardens of Versailles. As Maggie struggled to keep up with the other tourists as she took photos of the beautiful flowers along the way, the oleanders, the lavender, and the poppies. The rich colors of the flowers with the sun played off Maggie’s dark hair. Maggie’s best friend Olivia was telling Maggie to keep up with the group. After all, she wouldn’t want to get lost in the great maze of the Versailles gardens in France. They had come a long way from Akron Ohio to visit on this once-in-a-lifetime trip to France.
