Self-Deflating Image

mirrors;

they really do become

your worst enemy,

don't they?

you take one look

and suddenly,

you hate the image

staring right back at you.

why is that?

why do we do these

things to ourselves?

one second,

we're using the mirror

as a way to help beautify

our flaws;

the next,

we're slamming our fists

into the glass,

wanting to image

staring back at us

to stop lying to us.

mirrors;

everyone's worst

nightmare.

no matter how hard you

fight against it,

or how hard you

tell yourself the mirror's just

trying to fool you into

thinking the opposite,

the mirror will always

get inside your head;

fooling you into believing

the worst,

fooling you into believing

the lies.

when did we reach the age

where mirrors are

not our friends,

and when do we reach the age

when the opinions of mirrors

no longer matter

to those who look into them

once again?

mirrors;

everyone's worst nightmare;

mirrors;

everyone's worst enemy;

mirrors;

we're fighting back.
